At the AGM on 8 Jul, the club voted in a major update to the constitution, to set the foundations for future growth and reflect changes in how the club operates, governs itself, and serves its members. The updated constitution reflects our commitment to transparency, fairness, and effective management as we continue to grow and evolve.
You can read the full constitution on our website here. We encourage all members and interested parties to review it carefully to understand the rules and guidelines that will shape our club’s future.
Key Changes
The new constitution introduces several important updates. Here are some of the most significant changes:
Clearer Membership Rules
The updated document defines membership categories more clearly, including eligibility, rights, and obligations. This helps avoid confusion and ensures everyone knows what to expect.
Improved Governance Structure
The roles of the executive committee and other officers are spelled out in detail. This includes how they are elected, their duties, and how they can be held accountable.
Transparent Meeting Procedures
Rules for calling and conducting meetings are now more detailed. This includes notice periods, quorum requirements, and voting procedures to make meetings more effective and fair.
Conflict Resolution Process
The constitution now includes a formal process for resolving disputes within the club. This helps maintain harmony and ensures issues are addressed constructively.
Financial Management Guidelines
Clear policies on how club funds are handled, reported, and audited have been added. This promotes financial transparency and protects the club’s resources.
